I work structurally and impulsively, creating conflicts in both picture plains and viewer-space relationships. Roughly hewing out environments inspired by physical communities, structure, motion and colour.
I try to foster an artistic style that speaks within the range of abstract expressionism, pop culture, and urban and/or rural environments.
I intentionally expose the process, enabling the viewer to see how the work was realised, how it was constructed. I want to reveal the narrative found in each piece.
I try to find a fine balance between cohesion and unruly visual overload.
I want to make referential work that engages the viewer intellectually, aesthetically and historically without falling into pastiche.
