My current work focuses on “Play” as a revitalizing, energising, stimulating and relaxing force. I am interested in how play is connective; a sort of tangent that pulls us from the collective and changes our focus. I strive to render with sincerity and clarity the tentative longings we feel for that which is genuine and true: to untangle the poetry of the spirit. The work is playful, full of contradictions and occasionally introduces elements of the absurd. I am currently working on a series of small mixed media paintings. Using collage and oil paints on traditional gesso boards which I make as part of the practice. I live in Na Forbacha, in the Connemara Gaeltacht.
