Ben
GEOGHEGAN

On completion of his Masters in Visual Art Practices from Dun Laoghaire Institute of Art, Design and Technology in 2008, Ben is currently working on various projects and exhibitions for 2009.

A trans-disciplinary artist, Bens working practice incorporates many facets from art making, teaching, writing, drawing, painting, sculpture, photography, graphic-design and event management. Primarily concerned with the exploration of ideological positions exposed by various agents while engaged in cultural production. Each work is constructed as an exploration of values. Engaging with inherent values of the artist, the viewer, or the commissioning/hosting institution the work may also involve the material or the production medium’s position in relation to its history or use.

A founding and past director of 126/G126, Galway’s Artists run Gallery, Ben currently sits on the board of Artspace.
