My work represents a painted journal, inspired by travels in Southern Europe and India, recalling contrasting locations, exotic gardens, forests and desert -fresh sights seen and recorded - resulting in an intensive new journey, through the act of painting, in the studio. The travelling has finished but the journey has only begun. The sights experienced and recorded are brought together and merged to produce a kind of visionary garden, vibrant, colourful and hopeful - encompassing symbolic elements which shape our lives.
