I am looking at the subtle mix of the staged and the everyday and the nature of the uncanny. I am also exploring the self in relation to the other, the innate distance between people and the development of the persona throughout childhood and adulthood. Childhood and leaving it is about the move from the imaginary to social spaces and learning how to perform in the latter. Children’s identities are far more flexible than those of adults. They are still finding themselves. I aim to provoke viewers into questioning their individual standpoints Because children and adolescents are still becoming or being they are make powerful symbols to draw. Perhaps this is why people react emotionally to them in a way they would not react to adults.
