Trish
BUSHE
Trish Bushe was born in Donegal. She graduated From NCAD, Dublin in 1998 with a BA Honours Degree in Fine art and again in 2000 with a Masters Degree in Fine Art. She graduated from Galway/Mayo Institute of Technology in 1997 with a National Diploma in Fine Art (Distinction). She was a guest artist with Artspace Studios in Dec 2004 – 2005 and May 2002 – 2003. In 2003-2004 she was on the Public Artists Panel, Bundoran Co Council, Co Donegal.

This work stems from a week long drawing workshop in Co. Mayo away from the confines of the studio. I began working on a series of drawings outdoors. My materials were a pot of ink and a paired down wooden stick, being outside I found it impossible to stay in a fixed place. As a result the drawings took on another dimension. Perspective and form broke up as lines fragmented, all became interchangeable. The physical details are almost lost in the concentration of the whole – this in turn leads the eye across the surface of the paper in a delicate series of Arcs and Curves.
