Gleigh Gaughan

"I am interested in using diverse materials, especially those which are not considered traditional art materials, questioning the ideas of "high art" and "low art", beauty and taste. My current work employs the use of needlework and beading, traditionally regarded as that of "women's work" and not in the realm of "fine art". The use of pattern, embellishment and colour are integral parts of my work."
