Denise
HOGAN
Denise Hogan lives and works in Galway. She is a graduate of GMIT in paint and print. She works full time from her own studio and gallery in the city.
Denise is a co-founder of ‘Galway Print Club’ (now Lorg Printmakers, Liosbán Estate) with fellow fine art print-maker Emear Greaney in 1998 upon graduating from GMIT.
Selected exhibitions include Impressions, Galway Arts Centre, Lemon Street Print Gallery (off Grafton Street, Dublin), Iontas, Sligo Yeats Memorial Gallery and RHA group show.
Selected Corporate Commissions:
•SAP GALWAY - Installation Sculpture - (Wood, Steel and Glass) Currently situated in the main atrium of the award winning building.
•SAP GALWAY - Commissioned design on Crystal presented to Minister Micheál Martin at the official opening of SAP GALWAY.
•Mayor Val Hanley - Commissioned design on Crystal presented to An Taoiseach Bertie Ahern.
•APC BALLYBANE - Large scale Oil Paintings
•PARK HOUSE HOTEL & RESTAURANT - Large scale Oil Paintings commissioned for Hotel.

It has been said that artists paint because they have to. It’s simply the way of it. I respond to how I feel, to the tracks and surprises that paint creates on canvas, and to my surroundings. For me each painting is a spiritual journey where the ego must be set aside for the painting to speak. It’s simple, it’s a need to express.
