Fiona
MURRAY
Fionna Murray was born in London and studied at Chelsea college of Art from1991 to1995. She obtained an MFA from University of Ulster, Belfast in 1997. She currently lives and works in Co. Clare and teaches part-time on the Fine Art Degree course at Galway Mayo Institute of Technology. She has exhibited extensively throughout Ireland and is included in a number of public and private collections in Ireland, Europe and the USA. Fionna Murray’s work is concerned with the way in which perceptions of the past are interpreted in the present, and how physical and psychological distance from one’s place of origin can make the notion of home an uncertain one.
