IN DEATH AND FICTION
Louise Manifold is showing - IN DEATH AND FICTION - at
The Gallery - Siamsa Tire - Tralee - Co Kerry - 16 Feb - 30 March 2013
In this current work Louise Manifold explores the human relationship with the inanimate, the extinct and post death constructs found in collective cultural life. Drawing from sources such as Samuel Beckett, 19th century French Neurologist Jules Cothard, to decayed buildings and optical viewing. Manifold creates a journey of disjointed narratives in which belief, reality and fiction overlap.

Solo Exhibition of New Work by Artspace Director Catherine O' Leanachain opens in the Norman Villa Gallery 13th April
A solo exhibition of new paintings “Night and Day” by Catherine O’Leanachain the Director of Artspace Studios opens in the Norman Villa Gallery, Salthill, Galway on 13th April at 6.00 pm.
The guest speaker is Hilary Morley the Creative Project Manager .
The exhibition addresses the dual nature of the West of Ireland Landscape, the intimacy of the land, field, rocks, sheltering trees and the residue of human presence versus the majesty of its natural elements, the wild winter sea the rolling howling winds, the changing moods of the grey skies. O’Leananchain intuitively deals with her subject in a symbolic manner bordering on abstraction utilising natural materials like twigs and bog grass to draw with pigments, inks and oils as a cathartic link between past, present and future.
Exhibition continues until 29th April. For more information please contact: Norman Villa Gallery Tel:091 521131 Email: info@normanvillagallery.com Web: www.normanvillagallery.com
